    Measured in Watts. Power is the ‘work’ done in an electrical circuit. For example, your air conditioning unit might be rated at 1 kilowatt.

    A bigger air conditioning unit which makes the room cooler, faster will be greater than 1 kilowatt. Power is also lost as heat.

    Incandescent lighting is an example of a way that power is lost as heat. LED lights are considered more energy efficient because they don’t lose power as heat.

    1 Kilowatt is 1000 watts. Electric bills are measured in Kilowatt hours which is the amount of kilowatts expended over one hour.
